What belongs in a garage floor coating quote

Record the floor area and identify steps, stem walls, the apron, closets or other surfaces you want included. Share photos of old paint, cracks, oil stains and wet areas. Ask who moves cabinets or appliances and whether removing existing material is included. Boundaries should be clear enough that you can point to them during the walkthrough.

Ask how the slab will be evaluated and prepared for the chosen product. Request each layer’s product name, the specified finish and how cracks or joints are handled. Ask what happens if the site inspection finds a condition outside the quoted scope. A written allowance or change process is more useful than a verbal promise to “take care of everything.”

Ask for an installed total, any minimum charge, tax treatment and optional work priced separately. Record the installation window and distinct times for walking, parking and moving heavy items. Confirm weather or slab-condition contingencies. A one-day application schedule does not necessarily mean one-day vehicle access.

Before approving work, ensure the document identifies the company responsible for installation and service, payment milestones and warranty exclusions. Ask whether a warranty covers material, labor or both, and how a claim is made. The finished color sample and maintenance instructions belong with this record.
