Repairing an Electric Garage Door

garage door repairLike any electrical appliance or mechanism, electric doors can fail from time to time. If you’ve experienced this first hand, there are a number of steps you must take in order to repair it. At Professional Garage Concepts LLC, we’ve put together some tips on how to repair your electric garage door. Read on to find out more.

Get to the Root of the Problem

It may seem basic and pretty obvious, but before you go ahead and start pulling things apart or calling a professional for assistance, ensure that the plug is connected and everything is linked up the way it should be. From time to time, it can be as simple as a plug not being plugged in or a faulty fuse! In addition, check to see if the lock feature has accidentally been activated. This, again, is a common reason as to why your electric garage door may not work. If you’re not even aware of this feature, or don’t know how to turn it on or off, take a look at the user manual.

When our computers, phones or another electronic device is having issues, we usually turn it off and back on again to try and get it working. Well, with electric garage doors, this is no different. Unplug the socket (or take out the batteries and replace them) and wait a few minutes before plugging it back in. Sometimes this does the trick as it resets the sensors.
